Friday Cemetery Blogging

You've seen what happens to white marble on the east side of the state where the humidity is so high you feel like you need to flush your lungs to be able to take a good deep breath?

This is what happens to marble out here on the west side of the state where the dirt is bright red and the wind and sun bake it into place. Posted by Picasa

So, not to derail the train of thought or be disgusting or anything, but man - when I die, please let them know I don't want a monumental phallic symbol over my head.

jonboy--my husband, a native of West Texas, would tell you "Trees? We don't need no stinkin' trees."

See, I meant to come back to this and forgot (sorry about that). I originally kept my mouth shut because my first thought was "that is one huge phallic symbol". And then I wondered about the ego of the man who was buried there, and I thought I was being very disresepctful of the dead. And then I thought, "that durn Spookyrach, she KNEW what she was doing when she posted this thing"...

I find your cemetery blogs interesting. You might want to take a look at a cemetery in St Bernard Parish post Katrina. It's pretty disturbing: http://www.flickr.com/photos/48352971@N00/tags/graves/
