Better Living through Randomosity

* So there I was, sitting at my desk, when I was struck with a wonderful idea for a blog post. "Aha!" I said excitedly. "No need to write that down - I could never forget it."

* Been staring at this blank computer screen now for so long the screen saver came on. I've no clue what that really good idea was. Dammit.

* I have a raging headache. Maybe that's why I can't remember anything. Have I mentioned that the corn field across from my house is now over my head and starting to tassel? Danged ol' allergies.

* We leave on vacation on Saturday. Can't wait! We've rented a house on a mountainside and plan to sit around in the hot tub 24-7 admiring the view. Jonboy and his significant others are coming along. I think Jonboy and Jackson are secretly dating behind my back.

* Jackson refuses to grow his goatee back! He claims it's too grey and he says he looks "pretty" without it. I am incensed.

* We've been looking for a new house cleaner with no luck. Not even a nibble. Thankfully, today Maria called and said she can start cleaning for us again in August. The gods are smiling on us again!

* I just bought a nifty new copy of one of my all-time favorite stories. It's a hardback copy with snazzy endpapers and an attached ribbon bookmark. Makes me happy just to hold it. That is why e-books will never replace the real thing.

* The book is The Scarlet Pimpernel. I love nothing better than old masked avenger stories. Well, except for the Lone Ranger. He was ok, but he was no Green Hornet. The Shadow is probably my all-time favorite.

* I just had to venture into one of the back bedrooms to let Katie's friend Em know that her mom wanted her home. There are now two little girls back there, rolling on the floor wailing and moaning pathetically. They are deeply distraught because this is evidently the third evening in a row that I have interrupted their Barbie drama at the most climactic moment possible.

They disturb me. A lot.

* I would buy Katie some GI Joe's and a few Transformers, but I think it would be an exercise in futility. Transformers - Prom Dates in Disguise!

Baaahahaahaa! Prom dates in disguise! I think Katie and Em and I need to play Barbies and Jems for a while.

And I'm so there with the goatee. My Guy looks gorgeous with his 'tee, but he won't grow it because it's "itchy and grey." I tell him if he'd grow it he'd get "laid every night."

Your brilliant blog idea is hiding with mine somewhere. They're probably drinkin.

LOL at "Barbie"!! My mom used to do the same thing to me. Now I have this picture in my head of GI Joe wearing the strapless black sequin gown with the foo foo flounce on the bottom, singin' a Mattel torch song. Thanks a lot!

Well, I guess that means you ain't goin' to Galveston if you are going to be sitting on the edge of a mountain?

I just read an artsy-fartsy idea that suggested you get a Barbie doll at the thrift store and use her to make a self-portrait. I think it is a cool idea. I've been trying to figure out how to...ummm...adjust her figure without maiming her, so she would match my figure a little more...I'd have to take all that off the top and put it around the middle.

You know, that might make a lovely little project for y'all on family vacation--everyone make a self-portrait using a Barbie doll (well, I guess the guys could use a Ken doll, or GI Joe)!

I hope your missing blog post makes in back into your brain sometime soon.

My sister and I used to play Barbies for hours at a time. We only had one Ken doll, though, so usually we left him home and played boarding school or all-girl marching band. We were wierd.

And you realize you've now created Barbieus Interruptus?

Annie - That is a really cool idea. REALLY cool. I may have to try that.

PPB - You are so right. You shouldda heard the little weirdos goin' on about the Barbieus Interruptus. I was afraid to know what it was that I actually interuppted...

My daugher prefers Polly Pockets. They are way cooler than Barbies in my opinion.

... My G.I. Joe can beat the crap out of your Ken doll. ...

Mindy - Not a bad idea...

Jonboy - Yeah, right! Like I ever even OWNED a Ken doll. I do, however, have a Green Hornet doll...

My daughter had a friend spend the night last week. Every time they got the Barbies arranged just the way they wanted them, the boys would go traipsing through the room. I know I should have made them stop, but I sure enjoyed the mayhem. I did finally make them stop after about 5 times.

Hey, speaking of Katie, we saw her on TV last night when the Big Flat City news channel did a special on Fake Cow Town. She didn't have Barbie with her, however. Must be sort of a private thing.

Hope you have a grand vacation!

Yes Little David, Katie as on tv and now is prancing around feeling famous. She had to call of her relatives to make sure they saw her.

As far as this Barbie thing...I blame Rach. You drove Katie to Barbie. So we should stop teasing about cheerleading or that could be next. HEHE I can see Rach working with Katie in the backyard on cheers. Dont even say that is my job...I do softball and other sports

BTW Ray Ray who once pushed J-boy Jr. off her swing at the park which caused her to fall on her face, dot forget to go to the bank and wash your truck.

You might also dust off that old cheerleading outfit and get it ready.
"READY O KAY
POM POM to the left
POM POM to the right
Teach Katie how to cheer
Dats out of site"

Ohhh, that is so wrong, Man-With-No-Facial-Hair. So wrong.

Don't forget, I know where I can hide your body so that no one will ever find it!
