Friday Cemetery Blogging

This stone gives me the creeps. Bizarre Freudian creeps.
It makes me think this poor woman had a pale, unemployed, unhappy son living in her basement.
The next one, however, makes me think this guy was a ton of fun. Don't you wish you'd known this poor nut who couldn't make up his mind which nickname to use?

He probably died with his boots on.

Wonder if Mama is really alone in that casket under there......

"Chuck" Butch was only 57 when he went. Yeah he sounds like he was a fun guy. Maybe too much fun?

I heard the creepiest thing. That you can arrange for a live video feed to go inside the casket and then log onto it on your computer to watch your dearly departed decompose. There's a screensaver for ya!

Yeah, that Mama tombstone is definitely creepy. Does it say anything on the other side?

I work with a guy like the Chuck/Charles/Butch.

In fact, he is known as Butch as well, and Jack, and John, and Bill, and...

He's also made it past the magic 57 age barrier so maybe he's not as much fun as CCB Lawless.

Love Butch Lawless! "Afraid to say goodbye" really makes you wonder. Creeps me out.

Great photos, Rach!

PG - I think I have said this before, but you are one sick puppy. I love it!

Annie - I am kicking myself for not shooting the other side. As I remember it there was nothing unusual - just a name and some dates.

Jim - How many driver's licenses does your friend have? ha ha!

QG - thanks!

Cryin'! I'm cryin', I tell ya! Mindy and Diesel should not be allowed to play together! hahahahah!

you makin' me laugh inappropriately for a workplace.

you gonna get me in trouble!

shhhhh!

Baahahaa! I agree: Mindy and Diesel, out of the sandbox, now!

Mama gives me the creeps too. Was her full name elsewhere?

Know what would be totally funny? If that bottom photo was the foot of "Mama's" grave. I'd be afraid to say goodbye to Mama Butch because she'd probably be buried in Stephen King's "Pet Sematary", back from the dead to kick my ass with a wooden spoon in one hand and a bottle of MD 20-20 in the other.

What would really creep me out is if "Mother" was on that there stone.

Yea, I think I'd like to have known ole' "Chuck-Butch".

Dollars to donuts, neither Mama nor the son are in that vault. Oh, no, he got her at home, in a rocking chair with her best house dress on her. Why, he even tells us why...I'm afraid to say goodbye.

BTW, Rach, how far and wide do you have to range to get these doozies of yours. Shouldn't you be all out of local goodies for us by now?

"Mama's" gravestone, I know, is MEANT to be in the shape of a heart...but from that side of the stone it looks like Mama's large bosom or butt is poking up at us from Beyond This Life.

MaryBeth: I am so all about inappropriate workplace laughter.

MHP: Any reference to MD 20-20 is just automatically funny. Why?

Pattie: Absolutely.

Trace: Good point!

Cynthia: You are sooo right! I'm thinking he gets out of bed and styles her hair every morning, too! As for the locales, they are mostly from this half of the state and the most recently from the Tyler/Athens area. Lots and lots of good stuff in that part of the state.

Miss Kitty: I'm thinking there would be no escaping this woman from Beyond This Life or any other.

ok my comment didn't take, did it?
or did you delete it?
I think it's all a reference to Queen songs.

Captain - HAAA! (Nope, I didn't delete it.)

love the banter here ... visited a couple of graveyards in England last week - there are some weird things there too. Wish I'd taken my camera ...

Lorna - I am soooooo jealous! I would love to visit graveyards in England. Hell, I love to visit ANYTHING in England.
