What I did on my Memorial Day Vacation.

Jackson and I went camping.
We went to Caprock Canyon.

This is our campsite.
We are easy to find if you look for the pirate flag.

We (and by that I mean "he") did a lot of dutch oven cooking this time. Here are the pots cooking the bisquits and gravy we had for breakfast.

And these are the remains of the beans and cornbread
we had for supper one night. Yummy!

We saw some sights.

And some prickly pear blooms.

And of course we visited the cemetery.

Jackson and Spooky had a very nice time.
The End.

What an awesome holiday-weekend vacation. All this, and Jackson's a campfire chef, too. :-) Hip-hip-hooray!

Finding the Pirate Flag is not as easy as asking the Park Rangers. Big Burgers and Cherry Cobbler were a great reward for going those extra miles. Thanks for the campsite hospitality, it was a fun experience. Great pictures too.

The scenery looks beautiful. I don't know about the campfire cooking. Could we just bring a tent and camp out next to y'all and saunter over at mealtime??

When my son lived in Altus we'd drive by the area to and from. It is really a pretty place, and so different from what is on top and bottom.

Hey, Travelers!

I'm kicking myself for not taking your picture while you were there. We felt way all official because we had dinner guests!

Definitely bring your tent, Annie. Jackson always cooks a ton of food!

And really, I am not at all miffed that you and Jackson didn't even think to ask Cat and me if we wanted to go. Was it the sweet potato pancakes we made last time? Think we are just old fuddy-duddies that would cramp your style? But, hey, I'm not bitter or anything.
Well, um, see you in Sunday school.
