Those darn cats!

Jackson bought me acrylics for Chirstmas. Then he bought me this way cool wooden box for all my painty-things. I feel like a real live Ar-teest. I have been dying to start painting for weeks, but couldn't decide on a subject. Finally, after wandering around a bookstore a couple of weeks ago, I found my inspiration. I want to paint pulp art. This weekend I painted my first picutre - a picture of The Shadow.

I spread my paints and supplies out on the dining room table and got to work. Unfortunately, all that activity drew quite a crowd. Not content to stand on the edges and observe the process, they just made themselves comfortable.

Archie has always envisioned himself as an expert on whatever you are reading. He positions himself wherever he can obscure the most information. This allows him to give you the benefit of his advice without all that extraneous information clogging up the conversation.

Omar tired quickly of the whole thing.

I managed to complete my work, even with all their help. Maybe next time I will just paint cats.

BTW, don't you just love the way this guy uses Conde Nast Publications' art and then goes on to make it perfectly clear that you can't reproduce or republish any of his stuff?

The Shadow is © Conde Nast Publications and is used without permission. This site is © (I removed the name) and no material can be published, reproduced or republished on any other website without the prior written consent. You may download anything from this website for your own personal use. Sections may be used in reviews of the site, but no articles may be reproduced without the express written consent of the author.

I always say there's nothing more helpful than a cat!

I hadn't noticed that about the "without permission" stuff, Annie. I'm actually surprised his site hasn't been shut down. According to other such sites that I have read, Conde Nast is notoriously hardlined about protecting their copyrights. Can't say that I blame 'em. This guy does have a lot of nerve to ask that HIS work not be reproduced!

My daughter use to have a cat that loved to help me sew. If I laid fabric out and pined a pattern to it and started to cut it out. Freckles would come behind me and pull all the pins out of the pattern. He also liked to help make the bed.

Oh they're so cute. Our kitties like to sleep on the laptop keyboard--so nice and toasty.

These kittys demand to be the center of attention. If you read, they are on the book, if you type, hey are on the keyboard. i can not count the number of times I have had to go back and correct reports I have been typing because the kitty decided to help me out. BTW they love to play with the cursor on the monitor as well.
