Friday Cemetery Blogging

I say tomato. You say tomahto.

Katie is doing a social studies project for school. Jackson and I are not too good at this sort of thing, since we are coming into the game late. (The teachers haven't had four years of school to get us trained in proper parent participation etiquette.) Katie chose to do her project on Sam Houston. We did ok on the fact sheet. We are dreading making the soap bottle doll. But we can damn sure ace the informative poster - 'cause who else is gonna have a picture of their subject's grave to paste right up top? Huh? Huh?

parenting and school - sigh! I'm a teacher and we fail miserably according to our teenagers' teachers.

thats my girl, always prepared with that little extra something to add for the project to make it special. Your right, I bet none of the other kids will have a picture of the grave site for their person. Damn soap bottle dolls. Why could it have not been something like constructing an outline of their lives or formulating a business plan.

does that say the world will take care of Houston's fame or the world will take care of houston's face?

Ha ha! His fame. If you've seen his face you would know we've failed at that!

Ha! Yeah, face? Not so much!

Soap bottle doll?

Yup. Gotta use and empty dish soap bottle as a body and make a doll of your famous person. Don't ask me why - I have no idea.
