Friday Cemetery Blogging

I was looking for something to post for Friday. While I was going through some old photos, I came across some of my black and white stuff. I haven't done anything in black and white for quite some time. The B&W photos don't scan as well as the color ones do. I don't know why. But they have a great look and I'm going to have to do more.

These next two photos are from Caprock Canyon. (Hope you like them, Cowtown Pattie!) I took these seven years ago, while Jackson and I were hiking around the canyon on a date.

In amongst all the other stuff, I found one of my favorite scenes, which I didn't photograph as well as I would have liked. If you 'bigger it up' you'll see that the sign on the garage of the burned out building says:

Montague Volunteer Fire Department.

Hope you have a great weekend. We are sending Katie to my parents for the weekend, so we will have a child free weekend full of decadence and debauchery, the likes of which are seldom seen. We'll probably even see an R-rated movie at the theater. Or wander aimlessly around a flea market. And maybe skip breakfast. Yeah. I know you are jealous.

This has been a good week. I've learned some interesting and valuable stuff at work. I haven't felt the need to strangle any of my close personal acquaintances before dismembering and scattering their remains. And it rained.

Its also good to see some comments from some new readers. I hope you stick around. I hope we all have a restful weekend. See you next week!

Thanks for the Caprock shots!

I think I will really enjoy my visits to mujermaravilla-ville. Kman and I love to search out old cemeteries, we love the outdoors, and flea markets.

Onward!

I loves your sense of irony!!

(Enjoy the weekend, just remember to be a little extra careful if you decide to swing from the chandeliers!)

Twas me that removed the comment. I had a typo, and my own typos bug me!

Awesome photos! How I love Friday Cemetary Blogging. Old cemetaries are so cool.

Hope your weekend's filled with fun and relaxation. My equivalent of a kidless weekend is a catless weekend. I find it awesome not to be awakened at 5:45am by plaintive "lost" meowing, or being stepped in in the middle of the night by tiny feet...until about Sunday morning, when I start wondering what my little stinkers are up to.

Oh I love these! But I have always loved your black and white stuff.

Cemetery blogging - have to try it sometime.

But then my blog is actually named for a cemetery so maybe all my blogging is cemetery blogging.

Anyway you have some nice photos here.

I'm still reading! (Mindy's too)

Just thought I'd stop in and say hello. I read via bloglines so I don't always clickthru to comment.

Friday Cemetery Blogging is one of my favorite things to read (view?). It makes me want to go foraging through the tombstones around here to see what I can find.

Mostly, it makes me wish I was closer so we could hang out somewhere on Barton Springs Road and drink while you showed my more pictures.

Peace,
Milton

Have a fun, risk-filled weekend! Scool ended and I'm finally back among the living.
