I used to hang out in churches when life was tough when I was a kid. This takes me back. Old English Polish. Motes of dust on beams of light. Squeaky wood floors. Warm air. Quiet.
I love those little old churches. Good thing, because I'm the pastor of one :) But when I see them I always think about the people and what their lives were/are like, and the church's life as well.
As always, lovely shots. Can't believe the inside of the church looks so pristine if it's seldom used. Not a cobweb in sight. My house should be so lucky.

When I get old and have nothing to do (ha!), I'm going to learn to do woodworking like that - so cool!

That is one fine lookin' pulpit!
Great picture.
That is awesome. My dad used to wood carve before he started painting, but never made anything so large. I wish I had that talent.
I'm going on a photo adventure this weekend. Maybe I'll come up with the most amazing thing to post next week.
Love it Rach - you have a great eye.
I've done restoration work in older churches and the woodwork is sometimes just incredible... such as what you've got there.

Thanks.
I wrote a quick poem from your inspiration over at my place.
You broke that window, didn't you? I know you did, so just admit it!
That is just beautiful. It's a shame that no one gets to see it. I am glad you did not stick Barbie and make it look like she was looking out at us.
Great picture!

Been missing you on Prattle, Rach.
It has a rather haunting feel about it.
I love me some quarter-sawn oak, for sure...
Wow! I wish I could just spend a while in that place.

Seek and you shall find....knock and the pane shall fall out.
That is a beautiful picture. I love the perfect opportunity for a unique shot. Gorgeous.
