Friday Cemetery Blogging

What's in a name?

Updated to add: My snarky little entry did not take into account the lack of detail available to pictures in Blogger. The sign says "Forest Lawn Cemetery". This place is neither.

That is so funny. I wonder if a cemetary in the woods says Desert Bluff?

Yep, when you biggify it, you can see it in all its foresty, lawny glory. Didn't those people see how stupid that name was when they named it that? (Of course, I can think of nothing better to suggest.)

Are you going to post a cemetery Christmas card?

Maybe, just maybe it WAS a forest - a great, teeming tropical forest! Yeah! But then those evil, nasty, environment-hating, big-business lovin', tobacco-chewin', republican-votin' TEXANS cleared it all out! Prolly, all of West Texas used to be a rain forest! And now? Nothing but the tragic results of deforestation...

I bet the cure for cancer used to grow wild in Lubbock...

err

haven't you been cemetery blogging this week? I meant to go there today to take photos in the snow, but church stuff took longer than I expected, DD is running a fever, I had swedish to study and came home and took a nap instead :)

be blessed!

How many cemeteries do you visit a year to find these things?

Headless - Almost chokedo on my coke about the cure for cancer growing wild in lubbock! That's too good!

PPB - You know, I never thought about it before. I have no idea. Whenever I get the urge to (a.) take a road trip or (b.) take pictures, we end up prowling around for cemeteries. I love to drive down the back roads and looking for cememteries is a great excuse to explore.
